Torii Hunter: Having an openly gay teammate would ‘be difficult and uncomfortable’

So there's this baseball player guy who says he's uncomfortable because his teammate is gay and because of his Christian upbringing he thinks its wrong and won't support that teammate. Hmm i'm pretty sure black athletes weren't widely accepted once upon a time so i think Mr. Hunter shouldn't be so quick to pass judgement  On the matter of openly gay athletes i think everyone needs to get their heads out of their asses and realize that sexuality has nothing to do with athletic ability so the sexual orientation of a player shouldn't matter what so ever. Some players are concerned about the locker room but seriously could you have a bigger ego?  Just because someone is gay doesn't mean they're gonna automatically jump you just because you're a man also, like seriously get over yourself. Unfortunately there's not much that can be done about the issue other than for the athletes that don't care have to stand up for their homosexual teammates and to be as supportive as possible. You can't forces some of these athletes to stop being bigots or ignorant idiots.

The Best Colleges in America

So i was reading this article that listed the top 25 colleges in America. MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) is number 1 and Harvard is number 3. I love this because everyone always say Harvard is the best which is total BS. MIT is the best education a person can earn where Harvard is the "best" education money can buy. MIT doesn't give scholarships because everyone who goes there is so far above and beyond academically it wouldn't be fair. They would either have to give everyone a scholarship or no one. I must say I am a little biased because my brother goes to MIT and Harvard are their rivals. I guess my whole point in this is that people need to realize just because its Ivy league doesn't mean its the best.

Some people who commented on the article were complaining about the colleges that were on the list.  It's funny because honestly i think most of those people are jealous. They weren't smart enough to get into one of those schools (or any school) so they degrade those schools and the people who go there to make themselves feel better.

On Romney's Speech

In this election I voted (for the first time) for Obama and I can't say that i have been the nicest when it comes to Romney. I don't agree with views on women and gay rights and i've expressed my dislike for him in a less than respectful way but i have to say after we watched his speech in class i have gained some (not a lot) respect for him. Considering he didn't have a speech planned i though he gave it with dignity. I still don't like him and i don't think I ever will but I see now that behind the politician of the opposing party is a man who loves him family and his country (it just doesn't always seem like it).

Mila Kunis Doesn't Support Romeny

And sorry, Mitt, you'll have to look for another sexy 20something to lend her support this election season. "The way that Republicans attack women is so offensive to me," Kunis exclaims. In this one paragraph Mila literally says everything i think everyday. I think we play too much of an emphasis on religion in our country and i know it goes back to Puritan time and what not but seriously give it a rest already. Has anyone noticed every problem /war/historical crisis is linked to religion??

This is absolutely ridiculous to me. Like seriously this boy has been a boy scout since he was 6 years old and just because of his sexual orientation he's being denied an award he deserves and would have gotten if he fit societies stupid standards and was straight. This is a sensitive topic for me because some of my best friends are homosexual and people's bigotry and closed-mindedness on the subject really pisses me off. Looking at some of the comments on the article and making me mad because seriously what will it take to get people to realize that someones sexual orientation doesn't matter, at all. I got so upset while reading the comments i couldn't help but make one of my own
"All of you disgust me. What will it take for you people to realize that there are more important things to a person than their sexual orientation, like being a good person and having respect for others which clearly you all know nothing about. People like you all are the reason why i have lost all hope for humanity."

Ryan Andersen plans on going on Ellen's show and I wish him the best of luck because if anyone will support him and get supporters for him it will be Ellen.

US jobless rate falls to 7.8 pct., 44-month low

This article says that the unemployment rate is 7.8 percent, the lowest it has been in 4 years. If the number unemployed people is going down why would be change what we're doing? President Obama seems to be having a handle on things and it seems silly to me to make changes when things are actually looking up.

"Even with the issues in Europe and slowing production in China, U.S. economic activity does not look to be bearing the brunt of global downside, at least not anymore." 

Dad Bullying a Disabled Child

This is a clip of today's episode of Anderson Live and it showed a video about this Dad and his son that where bullying a 10 year old girl, named Hope, with cerebral palsy. I don't understand how anyone in their right mind would bully a little girl for having a disability. What makes me mad though is that in the video it was said that the police wouldn't do anything. People like the dad, William Bailey, make me sick and our society would be better of if there were less people like him.

Should Elementary Schools Hold Beauty Pageants?

So there's this elementary school in South Carolina that wants to hold a beauty pageant. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? that school is insane if they really think that's a good idea. One of the mom's said that her daughter came home crying because she didn't think she was pretty enough to enter. Is this really what we want to teach our kids? That all that matters in life are looks? We're supposed to teach children to have values and to be good people not that your facial beauty is what will get you by in life. One of the judges said  "Let's think about the other activities children do—football, dance, soccer, swimming, ice-skating—all of those things are judged."  Ummm you can't compare sports to a freaking pageant. Sport are 1.) based on athletic ability and performance not judging who has the most facial beauty and 2.) aren't judged, you compete and let your performance dictate who wins, not a person who is biased to a certain type of look. So no, i don't think elementary schools should hold beauty pageants.

So in this article Paul Ryan is talking about how he wanted to protect rights for hunters. Then this other guy, Rob Keck, talks about his hunting trip with Mitt Romney. Apparently Romney likes to hunt varmints like rodents and cute little bunnies (sad i know) but they hunted deer on their trip and Keck said "he (Mitt) doesn't claim anything more than he understands hunting and angling's economic and political engine - that powers America -" Okayy so this article was actually really boring and i'm sad a wasted 8 minutes of my life reading it but i wanted to share some of the comments people are making.

Texas School Wants to Make it Easier To Spank

This just blows my mind. Paddling should not be a form of punishment at school and for something as trivial as cheating. In the video one of the mothers says her daughter is proof that a man should never hit a women, well how about an adult shouldn't hit a child. One of the girls was paddled by her male vice principal and a male police officer watched... WHAT? Am i the only bothered by this?? That is so creepy. Both the Vice Principal and the Police Officer should be fired!

I think these mothers are just plain stupid. All they're trying to change is so that it's a female teacher hitting their children instead of male one. Why not try outlaw spanking as a punishment all together and have their child get a detention like a normal student.
